“The puzzle piece Kaleidoscope is a four-sided, 8 inch body or barrel which has two stems for Wheels coming out on the top corners like the horns of a bull. The smaller wheel has to fit within the second stem which holds the larger wheel and therefore since it is smaller I didn’t want to have just an unbroken arc of glass going around when you spin the wheel. So I grind a notch into each quadrant of the smaller wheel. This breaks up the optic field so that when you spin the wheel you got something to look at that passes by the viewing part of the optic port. The second wheel is the outside wheel, being larger to cover the entire optic field,” John Cooper.
